My name is Barrett Russell and building bikes is a passion of mine. The privilege to work with these alloys, and the creative minds I find around me while working on different projects, is truly my life blood.
The materials I work with for bicycles are of the steel alloy variety. These steels are luggable, widely available, amazingly ductile and responsive; and if taken care of, will last many lifetimes. Although GTAW, carbon fiber, and aluminum have many advantages over brazed steel construction, for many different applications... bicycle frames, forks, stems, and racks, in my opinion, are better suited to steel which is brazed.
